Ukraine and the UN Launch a New Program for Veterans: What Will Change in 2025

Ukraine's Minister for Veterans' Affairs Natalia Kalmykova held a meeting with the delegation of the UN Development Program in Ukraine. The parties discussed support for veterans within the 'EU4Recovery: Expanding Community Opportunities in Ukraine' program for 2025-2028.


Three areas of the new phase of the program have been agreed upon: strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Veterans, improving access to services, and supporting the economic independence of veterans. The program is aimed at helping veterans reintegrate into civilian life through a decentralized support model, where communities play a key role.



During the meeting, important aspects of the 'EU4Recovery' program were discussed, and specific steps were outlined to enhance the quality of support for veterans. The main focus of the new phase of work will be on enhancing the capacity of the Ministry of Veterans to ensure the most effective assistance and support to our heroes.

As a result of the meeting, specific tasks were formulated to help improve the quality of life for veterans and provide them with the necessary assistance in the process of adapting to civilian life after returning from war.
