The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Svitlana Hrynychuk, held an online meeting with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar.

According to the Ministry of Energy, during the discussion, issues regarding the updating of the contractual framework in the energy sector, the restoration of the Ukrainian-Turkish working group on energy, the launch of projects for the supply and storage of natural gas, and the participation of Turkish businesses in the modernization of Ukraine's energy infrastructure were raised.

'Ukraine and Turkey have a long history of energy partnership. We have taken another step towards deepening cooperation, particularly in the field of gas supply and storage. Turkey's strategic location, its gas infrastructure, and the activity of Turkish companies create additional opportunities for strengthening the energy security of our region,'
- noted Svitlana Hrynychuk.

It was agreed to activate the work of the bilateral working group, which has not convened since 2021. This will allow for systematic coordination of the implementation of joint initiatives, the development of plans, and the approval of technical solutions.

Both countries have a long history of cooperation in the energy sector, so the activation of the Ukrainian-Turkish working group may contribute to the further development of cooperation and strengthening the energy security of both countries.
