Ukrainian Forces Strike Oil Facility in Russia’s Volgograd Region

Українські військові завдають удару по нафтовому об'єкту в Росії.

Attacks Target Oil Transport Infrastructure and Command Centers

On the night of June 13, Ukraine’s defense forces launched a strike on an oil transport infrastructure site in Russia’s Volgograd region, as well as on command posts, drone operators, and concentrations of Russian military personnel. The target was a workshop used for oil preparation and pumping near the town of Kotovo, where a hit was confirmed and a fire broke out at the facility. This site processes, transports, and pumps oil via main pipelines, collecting and preparing crude from the Korobkovskoye oil and gas field and adjacent fields in the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, as well as the Republic of Kalmykia.

Additional strikes were carried out against Russian military command points in the following areas:

  • Soledar in Donetsk region
  • Verkhnya Krynytsia in Zaporizhzhia region

Drone control centers were also hit in these locations:

  • Khoromne in Bryansk region
  • Verkhnya Krynytsia in Zaporizhzhia region
  • Voskresenka in Donetsk region
  • Novomykolaivka in Kherson region

Focus on Russian Troop Concentrations

Ukrainian defense forces also concentrated their attacks on areas where Russian army personnel were massed. The following locations were targeted:

  • Kolotylivka in Belgorod region
  • Novi Yurkovychi and Chornozemny Horodok in Bryansk region
  • Soledar and Uspenivka in Donetsk region
  • Holubivka in Kharkiv region
  • Pryvilne in Zaporizhzhia region

In addition, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Vostochny training ground in Zaporizhzhia region.

These operations demonstrate that Ukrainian forces continue to carry out deliberate strikes on military infrastructure and assets that support the Russian army.

These attacks highlight Ukraine’s ongoing active military campaign aimed at weakening Russia’s combat capabilities. Destroying infrastructure like oil transport facilities can significantly hinder Russia’s ability to sustain its military operations.

At the same time, hitting command centers and troop concentrations reflects a strategic approach to warfare, focusing on dismantling the enemy’s logistics chains and command structures.

The recent strikes by Ukrainian forces not only targeted key oil infrastructure in Russia but also disrupted other critical assets. For instance, a simultaneous operation focused on halting the Syzran oil refinery while targeting advanced radar systems. This coordinated effort underscores a broader strategy aimed at diminishing Russia's military capabilities.
