The Panormitis Incident
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Israel’s ambassador to deliver a formal protest note following the arrival of the ship Panormitis at Haifa port, which was carrying stolen Ukrainian grain. The vessel docked around 01:07 Kyiv time on April 27, transporting 6,200 tons of wheat and over 19,000 tons of barley. The cargo was processed at the Russian port of Temryuk, and the ship had previously been anchored off the port of Kavkaz in Russian territorial waters.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called his Israeli counterpart, Gideon Saar, to discuss a prior incident involving the vessel Abinsk. That ship also entered Haifa port with a shipment of wheat originating from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. The Abinsk bulk carrier, which had been awaiting clearance since March 23, received permission on April 12. It holds 43,765.18 tons of wheat loaded while anchored off the port of Kavkaz.

Sybiha added, 'In this context, we have already officially invited the Israeli ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tomorrow morning to deliver our protest note and request that appropriate measures be taken.'
