Ukraine Labels Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a Terrorist Entity
In a significant diplomatic move, Ukraine has formally designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, commenting on the decision, pointed to Iran's actions, which he stated have resulted in substantial loss of life and regional destabilization. This designation aligns Ukraine with a small group of nations, including the United States, that have taken this step against the IRGC.
"Iran's policy of terror, both domestically and beyond its borders, has caused mass killings, destabilization, and suffering."

Sybiha further emphasized that this policy has led to thousands of deaths from repression inside Iran, the use of Shahed drones in Ukraine, and violence in other nations. "We have decided to call things by their proper names," the Foreign Minister noted.
Potential International Repercussions
Ukraine's decision is likely to significantly impact its relations with Iran and the broader international community. The terrorist designation could contribute to increased sanctions and the further isolation of Iran, while underscoring Ukraine's stance in combating terrorism. This move also reflects growing international concern over Iran's influence on regional security and the potential threats it poses to other countries.
