Europe Loses 35% of Its Natural Wealth Through Ukraine

Європа втрачає значну частину своїх природних ресурсів через події в Україні.

International Day for Biological Diversity and World Goth Day

May 22 marks both the International Day for Biological Diversity and World Goth Day. This date also appears on the religious calendar as the Day of Martyr Basiliscus. The United Nations established the International Day for Biological Diversity, initially observed on December 29. In 2000, however, the UN General Assembly moved the observance to May 22. The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity. Ukraine alone is home to roughly 35% of Europe's natural diversity.

World Goth Day was launched by radio DJs from the United Kingdom in 2009, celebrating the diversity of payment methods and economic life. According to the church calendar, this day honors the martyr Basiliscus, who suffered for his faith under Emperor Maximian Galerius between 305 and 311 AD. Basiliscus is known to have been the nephew of the holy martyr Theodore Tyron.
