Ukraine is actively engaged in foreign trade, as confirmed by the data from the State Statistics Service. In the first seven months of 2025, the export volume amounted to USD 23.3 billion, which is 3.5% less than last year. At the same time, imports increased by 16.9%, reaching USD 45.9 billion.
The negative balance of foreign trade amounted to USD 22.626 billion, and the coverage ratio of exports to imports was 0.51. Among the fastest-growing export items are electrical machines (+13.4%), fats and oils (+8.1%), and ferrous metals (+3.7%), while grain shipments fell by 26.5%. Regarding imports, the main increases were observed in electrical machine supplies (+70.2%), mineral fuels (+15.7%), vehicles (+15.3%), and nuclear reactors (+9.9%).
Ukraine's foreign trade operations are conducted with 222 countries around the world, indicating a significant variety of exports and imports.
In the first seven months of 2025, Ukraine's export volume slightly declined, while imports significantly increased, exacerbating the negative balance of foreign trade. Electrical machines have become one of the main goods exported by Ukraine, while imports have surged due to vehicles and consumer electronics. Cooperation with over 200 countries indicates the broad geographical scope of Ukraine's foreign trade relations.
