Former British diplomat Cormack Smith revealed that Ukraine has eliminated close to 2,000 fuel trucks belonging to the Russian military over a span of four days. The majority of these vehicles were hit along the primary route of the land bridge connecting Donbas and Crimea. Smith shared this information during an interview on Times Radio's Frontline program. He explained that these strikes on fuel transports are part of a Ukrainian strategy he referred to as the 'trident'.

He emphasized that May marked the first month since 2023 in which Ukraine reclaimed more territory than it lost. In response, Russian forces launched 729 aerial targets against Ukraine in a single night, with air defense systems intercepting 642 of them. However, approximately 30 ballistic missiles reached their targets, resulting in fatalities in Dnipro and Kyiv.
