Ukraine, being a small country, has a significant contribution to the preservation of biodiversity in Europe. A new strategy has been developed aimed at improving the state of ecosystems, ensuring sustainable economic development, and strengthening the resilience of communities and nature to climate change.
The strategy was developed by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture with the participation of the UN Development Programme in Ukraine and with financial support from the Global Environment Facility. A public discussion of the document is currently underway, after which it will be submitted for review and approval by the Government.
Understanding the importance of preserving biodiversity will help everyone realize how it affects our daily lives and future. The project of the new development strategy aims to improve the mechanisms for nature conservation and ensure the sustainable use of its resources.
