In 2026, communities will purchase over 540 school buses with state subsidy funds. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the allocation of 2 billion UAH for these needs. This is reported by the Government Portal.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the government has established a clear order in which educational institutions will receive transport.
School Buses 2026: Who Will Receive Them First
Priority is given to the following categories of institutions:

academic lyceums that will accept students from other schools in the community starting from the 2027/2028 school year
-
schools that transport children from closed or reorganized institutions
-
special schools and educational-rehabilitation centers
-
institutions with a number of students from 200
-
schools where more than 100 children are studying.
It is separately emphasized that institutions with children with special educational needs will have priority for specially equipped buses within each queue.
School Bus Purchase: Conditions for Receiving Subsidy
Mandatory conditions for participation in the program include the availability of own or nearby shelter, as well as co-financing from local budgets.
In 2025, the "School Bus" program had a budget of 2.7 billion UAH. With these funds, along with co-financing from communities, about 700 buses of Ukrainian production were purchased.
Thus, the state continues to update the fleet for the transportation of schoolchildren, focusing on safety and accessibility of education.
