Launch of Pilot 5G Projects in Ukraine
In January 2023, pilot 5G projects will start in two cities in Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. According to him, the launch of 5G will take place in parts of the indicated cities within a few weeks.
The pilot 5G projects will be deployed in the centers of certain cities, which will allow testing of new mobile communication capabilities. Testing of 5G mobile internet will begin in the fall of 2025 in Lviv, Kharkiv, and Borodyanka. This will be the next step in the development of advanced communication technologies in Ukraine.
The Future of 5G in Ukraine
It is expected that widespread 5G coverage in Ukraine will not be realized before 2030. Mykhailo Fedorov noted that the team has been working on this project for a long time, testing technologies with the military.
