The Ukrainian government is opening a rail service to Bucharest. A train will depart today on a test run to open a new route. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, as quoted by 'We-Ukraine'.
«Starting today, a direct service between Kyiv and Bucharest is being launched in test mode. Two special cars will depart for the Romanian capital via Chișinău and will return to Kyiv tomorrow», – he noted.
The news also mentions temporary changes to the schedules and routes of international trains due to repair work at the Budapest-Keleti station. These works will be carried out from August 25 to September 20, 2025. Additionally, it is worth noting the increase in the number of claims for lost items on trains this year, as well as the transportation of petroleum products from Germany to Ukraine using 'Ukrzaliznytsia's' own cars.
Ukraine is expanding its railway route network, which will contribute to the improvement and development of the country's international transport connections.
