Ukrainian Defense Forces Hit Occupiers' Infrastructure
Over the past 24 hours and into the night of May 24, Ukraine’s military launched coordinated attacks on multiple Russian-occupied targets. These included an oil terminal in the Krasnodar region, vessels stationed in Novorossiysk, ammunition depots, and drone command centers.
One strike targeted the oil-loading pier of the Tamanneftegaz terminal in the village of Volna, Krasnodar Krai. The attack damaged a loading stand at the facility, which has an annual capacity of up to 20 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products. The terminal supplies the aggressor state’s armed forces.
Strikes on Warehouses and Military Sites
In temporarily occupied Crimea, an ammunition depot was hit near the village of Mizhhirya. Additionally, in the Bilolutsk area of Luhansk region, the following were destroyed:
- a logistics supply warehouse
- an ammunition storage facility
- a fuel and lubricants depot
Drone command centers were also attacked near Borysivka (Belgorod region), Voskresenka (Donetsk region), and Tyotkino (Kursk region). A concentration of personnel near the village of Volfynsky in Kursk region was also struck.
On May 23, Ukrainian forces targeted the Novorossiysk naval base in Krasnodar Krai, hitting the patrol ship Pytlivy and a hovercraft missile boat. The extent of damage to these vessels is still being assessed.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated: 'Ukraine's defense forces will continue to take systematic measures to halt the armed aggression against Ukraine.'
These operations underscore the ongoing intensity of hostilities between Ukraine and Russia, as well as Ukraine’s strategic focus on degrading the occupiers’ combat capabilities. By destroying key infrastructure and military supply depots, Ukraine aims to disrupt Russian logistics and sustain pressure on enemy forces. For a Western audience, these actions highlight Ukraine’s ability to project force deep behind enemy lines, a critical factor in modern warfare.
As Ukraine continues to target critical military assets, a recent strike on a Russian missile carrier in the Caspian Sea highlights the expanding scope of its operations. These actions not only aim to disrupt supply lines but also signal a broader strategy to weaken the aggressor's naval capabilities.
