Funding for Units and Artillery

Pavlo Palisa reported on the outcomes of his discussions with commanders of combat brigades, highlighting the effectiveness of the direct unit funding program, which is set to be expanded. Starting next month, funding per battalion engaged in combat missions will increase. Launched last year, this initiative has already enabled brigades to speed up the procurement of drones and other essential equipment.

In addition, separate funding will be introduced for artillery units operating in the combat zone, as well as for corps-level formations carrying out combat tasks. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff has already approved this decision. Units will receive additional resources in July, which is expected to enhance their ability to accomplish assigned missions.

Effectiveness of Funding Programs

The guaranteed monthly personnel allocation program for combat brigades has proven its effectiveness. In place since December 2025, it ensures stability in staffing for these units. Pavlo Palisa also briefed on communication with international partners regarding specific agreements to strengthen air defense capabilities. Missiles and air defense systems for Ukraine remain the top priority in international efforts. These steps are aimed at improving combat readiness and ensuring security amid modern challenges.

The implemented funding and staffing programs are part of a strategy to boost the combat readiness of Ukrainian units. Increased funding and new resources for artillery units could significantly enhance their capabilities during active combat operations. Simultaneously, strengthening air defense through international agreements is critical for protecting the country against contemporary threats. These measures demonstrate intensified efforts to maintain stability and security in the region.

In light of these developments, it's crucial to note that the President of Ukraine has also directed the Ministry of Defense to expedite the delivery of anti-ballistic missile systems. This initiative aims to further bolster the nation's defense capabilities, ensuring that both ground and aerial threats are effectively addressed.
