Ukraine increases annual leave: employees will receive 28 days

The updated Labor Code of Ukraine aims to bring Ukrainian labor legislation closer to European norms, in particular increasing vacation days to 28 days. The current labor legislation defines 24 calendar days of leave per year. Thanks to the new Labor Code project, employees will receive an additional 4 days of leave, which is a significant improvement in working conditions.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the Labor Code project, which has been developed for over two years. This document is an important Euro-integration project, as confirmed by Daria Marchak. She noted that updating labor legislation is a necessary step for adapting to European standards.

Innovations in Labor Legislation

In addition, it is worth noting that the probationary period in Ukraine cannot exceed three months, which is also part of the innovations in labor legislation. Yulia Svyrydenko reported that the Ministry of Economic Development has been working on the document for over two years. This indicates a serious approach to improving labor legislation in the country.

Increasing the duration of leave to 28 days is an important step in the context of improving working conditions in Ukraine and adapting to European standards. This can have a positive impact on the well-being of employees, contributing to increased productivity and reduced burnout. Additionally, the new Labor Code may serve as a basis for further reforms in the labor sector, enhancing the competitiveness of the Ukrainian labor market. The update of labor legislation demonstrates Ukraine's commitment to integration with the European Union and compliance with modern business environment requirements.
