Counter-Kamikaze Drone System Targets Shahed Threats
Ukraine has developed a system to counter Shahed kamikaze drones, achieving interception rates of up to 97% against these Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles. This information was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing Oleksandr Kamyshin, an advisor to the president on defense industry matters. He highlighted the high effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in neutralizing these drones, underscoring the country's capacity to adapt to modern threats.
Kamyshin expressed surprise that certain nations, including Iran, did not adequately study counter-drone solutions before launching attacks.
“Right now, we can shoot down 97% of Shaheds,” he stated.Ukrainian defense companies are actively collaborating with partners from Saudi Arabia, particularly the Riyadh-based firm Science Technology, led by Idris al-Zakari. He emphasized that Ukrainian defense technologies remain relevant because they stem from a highly active innovation environment where systems are rapidly developed, adapted, and refined.
