On August 11, at the 2025 World Games, the Ukrainian team won 7 awards in underwater sports. This is reported by 'Glavkom'.
Our team has a total of 23 medals and fourth place in the medal standings.
Underwater Sports
- Finswimming, 400 m, women: Sofia Grechko - gold, Anna Yakovleva - silver.
Jiu-Jitsu
- Ne-waza, 69 kg, men: Konstantin Shutko finished competition at the qualification stage.
Wushu
- Sanda 85 kg, men, semifinals: Vladimir Shevchenko will fight for bronze on August 12.
We remind you that Ukraine entered the top 10 of the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, taking 10th place. In the collection of the Ukrainian team: 5 golds, 8 silvers, and 10 bronzes.
This is the second most successful performance of the Ukrainian team in the entire history of participation in the Festivals since 1993! The 'blue and yellow' athletes won more medals only in 2019 - then there were 25 awards.
Successes in Various Sports
The most successful sport was judo - our athletes won six medals, including bronze in the mixed team tournament. In addition to judo, Ukrainian representatives performed well in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, gymnastics, and table tennis.
Ukraine is also successfully represented at the World Summer Universiade in Germany. On the final day of the competition, the Ukrainian team won another award - bronze from Nikolai Rushak in 20 km race walk.
Ukraine took 14th place in the overall medal standings. Our athletes won a total of 12 medals: 4 golds, 3 silvers, and 5 bronzes.
The high results of Ukrainian athletes at the World Games and other international competitions confirm the high level of sports training in our country and are a source of national sports patriotism.
