The Ukrainian national team in taekwondo won four medals at the European Championship. Today, November 23, the European Championship in Olympic weight categories concluded in Eglis, Switzerland. According to information from 'Glavkom', the Ukrainian team showed excellent results, winning one silver and three bronze medals.



Silver for Kyrylo Hurnov in the weight category up to 80 kg


In the final in the weight category up to 80 kg, Ukrainian Kyrylo Hurnov lost in a tight match to participant of the 2024 Olympic Games Stefan Takov and earned a silver medal. This became an important achievement for Ukrainian taekwondo.



Second place among men based on the results of the competition


The national team of Ukraine took second place among men in the overall team ranking at the European Championship. As a result, the team obtained four medals, showing a high level of training and sporting mastery.



Success of the Ukrainian team at the European Youth Olympic Festival


At the European Youth Olympic Festival, the Ukrainian team ranked 10th in the overall medal standings. The athletes contributed 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, making it the second most successful performance in the history of participation in Festivals.



Successes in other sports


Ukrainian athletes also won medals in other sports, such as judo, swimming, athletics, shooting, artistic gymnastics, and table tennis. Athletes excelled in various weight categories, showcasing their talents.



Important award at the World Summer Universiade


The Ukrainian national team performed successfully at the World Summer Universiade, winning 12 medals in the overall medal standings. Among them are 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze. In addition, Mykola Rushak became a bronze medalist in race walking.
