Ukrainians have the opportunity to compare prices for fat and chicken in supermarkets and markets at the end of July. According to data from the Ministry of Finance and the Capital Market, consumers compare product prices, quality, convenience, and the possibility of bargaining.

In July 2025, prices for chicken in Ukrainian supermarkets and markets show significant differences depending on the part of the carcass and the place of purchase. Chicken thighs, traditionally the most expensive part, cost an average of 138 hryvnias per kilogram in supermarkets: in Megamarket the price reaches 142 hryvnias, while in Novus it is slightly cheaper - 134 hryvnias. Chicken shanks are significantly more affordable - the average price is 94.50 hryvnias per kilogram, with Megamarket charging 109 hryvnias and Novus - 79.99 hryvnias.


Whole chicken is offered at an average price of 119.75 hryvnias per kilogram. In markets, chicken wings are sold from 89 to 99 hryvnias per kilogram, chicken drumsticks around 112 hryvnias, and factory chicken carcass - 107 hryvnias per kilogram.

As for fat, the difference between Megamarket and Novus is noticeable. Homemade fat in supermarkets costs an average of 252.05 hryvnias per kilogram: in Megamarket - 215.10 hryvnias, while in Novus - up to 269 hryvnias. Salted fat is offered at a price of 264.80 hryvnias per kilogram in Auchan chain.


In markets, prices for fat vary from 130 to 160 hryvnias per kilogram depending on quality and seller. By the way, Ukrainians in Poland were advised where to make the most profitable purchases.
