Collaboration Agreement Signed

Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy and the All-Ukrainian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies, known as the 'Association of Ukrainian Cities,' have formalized a Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement aims to support the voluntary return and reintegration of Ukrainians currently living overseas. The document was signed by Minister Denys Uliutin and the Association's Executive Director, Oleksandr Slobozhan. This partnership is part of the 'YOUA – Forging New Paths, Building Ukraine’s Future' project, which is being implemented on behalf of the German government through GIZ Ukraine.

Project Scope and Objectives

The initiative involves expanding communities on a digital platform that provides returning Ukrainians with essential information on housing, employment, services, and other integration opportunities. Through an open selection process, local communities will gain better access to insights on state policy tools related to repatriation and reintegration.

“Communities play a crucial role when it comes to the return of Ukrainians. Reintegration happens at the local level, where conditions for living, working, and accessing services are created. It is vital for us to deepen this cooperation, and we invite all communities to join in strengthening their capacity to welcome people and foster conditions for their return,” stated Minister Denys Uliutin.

The signing of this Memorandum between the Ministry of Social Policy and the Association of Ukrainian Cities marks a significant step in supporting Ukrainians who were forced to leave the country. Given the current challenges surrounding the return of refugees, implementing this project could greatly ease their adaptation and integration into society. Local-level collaboration will ensure more effective execution of state reintegration policy, which is critical for restoring socio-economic stability in Ukraine.

As this initiative unfolds, it aligns with broader efforts to enhance Ukraine's social development framework.
