New financial initiative in Ukraine
The state of Ukraine has announced a new financial initiative, under which citizens over 40 years old will be able to receive 2000 hryvnias for a medical check-up. This program, named 'Health Screening 40+', aims to improve the health of the population through early detection of potential risks.
The payment of 2000 hryvnias is exclusively intended for citizens of Ukraine who have reached the age of 40. The money can be spent on paying for a medical check-up, which includes:
- diagnosis of cardiovascular pathology risks,
- testing for type II diabetes,
- assessment of mental health.
Mechanism for receiving funds
The mechanism for receiving funds is digitized: an invitation to participate in the program will be sent in the 'Diia' application 30 days after reaching the age of 40. Funds are credited to a special 'Diia Card' account. For those citizens who do not use smartphones, a special card can be issued at a partner bank, as well as the opportunity to contact the Center for Administrative Services (CNAO) for information.
The ball is in the person's court. We provide the funds, and you choose the service. It is important for us to detect potential diseases early. - Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health
This initiative is a step towards improving the health of Ukrainians and preventing serious illnesses in the future.
The implementation of the 'Health Screening 40+' program reflects the growing attention of the Ukrainian government to health care and disease prevention issues. The initiative has the potential to not only improve the quality of medical services but also reduce the burden on the health care system as a whole. Importantly, access to funding for check-ups will simplify the examination process for thousands of Ukrainians, which can positively impact the health of the nation.
