Ukraine's 'Health Screening' Initiative
A new state program in Ukraine, called 'Health Screening,' will provide a 2000 hryvnia payment to citizens who have turned 40 years old. The initiative officially launched on January 1, 2026, with the first payments scheduled to begin in February 2026. This grant is part of a broader effort to promote preventative healthcare among the adult population. The payment mechanism is linked to the recipient's date of birth, and an invitation to participate is sent via the Diia app on the 30th day following their birthday.
For instance, citizens who celebrated their 40th birthday on January 1, 2026, will receive their notification on January 30. Funds will be credited to their account within a week after confirmation, approximately by February 7. There is no upper age limit for this program, making it available to all citizens over 40 across the country. It is not possible to apply in advance; individuals must wait for the automated notification.
How to Receive the Funds
The money is deposited onto a special 'Diia.Card.' For those who do not use the Diia app, the process can be completed through Administrative Service Centers (ASCs). This requires opening the special card, a service provided by PrivatBank. Funds are deposited within 7 days of completing the registration. The program has established usage deadlines, and any unused funds must be returned to the state budget. For citizens born between October and December, the deadline to use the funds is extended to March 31, 2027.
This initiative is part of a wider program to support the health of Ukraine's population, promoting disease prevention among middle-aged adults.
It also supports the digitalization of state services through the Diia app, simplifying access to social payments. With no upper age limit, the program covers a significant portion of the population, underscoring the importance of health for all citizens over 40.
