Funding of Social Payments in Ukraine
As of August 20, 2023, payments have been financed in Ukraine across several areas, including:
- pension payments;
- housing subsidies and benefits;
- insurance payments;
- social assistance;
- other payments.
The total amount of pension payments amounted to UAH 63.2 billion, of which UAH 9.2 billion was directed through JSC Ukrposhta, and UAH 54.0 billion through authorized banks.
In addition, UAH 1.5 billion was financed for housing subsidies and benefits, and UAH 2.6 billion for insurance payments, including UAH 1.2 billion for sick leave payments. Social assistance and other payments amounted to UAH 10.1 billion. In August, the Pension Fund of Ukraine provided 838.1 thousand services to individuals who applied to its bodies.
Social Policy in the Context of Economic Challenges
This data indicates active financial support for the population of Ukraine, which is an important element of social policy in the context of economic challenges. Pension and social assistance payments aim to ensure social protection for the most vulnerable segments of the population, which is especially relevant during a crisis.
The increase in the number of services provided by the Pension Fund also indicates a rising demand for social guarantees among citizens.
