Financial Aid Available for Ukrainians
Estonia's Refugee Council has launched an initiative offering financial grants of up to 42,000 Ukrainian hryvnias. The application window for this program is open until February 8, 2026. This support is specifically targeted at residents of the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Cherkasy regions, whose lives have been impacted by the war. This initiative is part of broader international efforts to help stabilize communities affected by the conflict.
The maximum grant amount of 42,000 hryvnias can be used for purposes including:
- cattle farming;
- food production;
- service provision.
Furthermore, the program provides specialized financial assistance for various types of agricultural activities. Specifically:
- 31,000 hryvnias for pig farming;
- 30,000 hryvnias for poultry farming;
- 29,000 hryvnias for rabbit, goat, sheep, or beekeeping.
Application Deadlines
It is important to note the differing regional deadlines: for residents of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, applications must be submitted by February 1, while the deadline in Zaporizhzhia Oblast is February 8. The program aims to support households that have suffered losses due to the armed conflict and to help revive their activities within the agricultural sector.
This financial aid program from the Estonian Refugee Council represents a significant step in supporting Ukrainian farmers impacted by the war. It not only helps to compensate for losses but also stimulates the development of local agriculture, which is critically important for the economic stability of these regions.
The support provided through this initiative could serve as a vital component in the recovery of rural communities that have endured serious losses from the ongoing conflict.
