Українці оберуть назву для першої національної моделі штучного інтелекту через голосування в додатку 'Дія'

Vote Now to Name Ukraine's First National Large Language Model

Citizens of Ukraine can now vote to select a name for the nation's first large language model (LLM) via the government's 'Diia' app. This public vote, organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation in partnership with the company Kyivstar, is open until 12:00 on March 29. This initiative is part of a broader effort to develop a national AI that truly understands the Ukrainian language and cultural context.

The development of this LLM aims to create an artificial intelligence capable of comprehending Ukrainian dialects, history, and cultural nuances. The Ministry stated:

“Together with Kyivstar, we are continuing to develop the first national large language model – an AI brain that will power services for millions. This LLM will understand the Ukrainian context, dialects, and history. And it is you, the Ukrainian people, who will choose its name through a vote in Diia.”

The shortlist of potential names for the new language model includes:

  • Сяйво – Siaivo
  • Питай – Pytai
  • Слово – Slovo
  • Дзвінка – Dzvinka
  • Говерла – Hoverla
  • Шипіт – Shypit
  • Шукай – Shukai
  • Ядро – Yadro
  • Кавун – Kavun
  • Гомін – Homin

Every Ukrainian citizen is eligible to participate in this vote and help shape the future of this significant technological project.

Digital Signature Verification Service Updated

In a separate development, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has also upgraded the electronic signature verification service (CEP) on id.gov.ua. The updated service now complies with current EU standards, and its validation results carry full legal force. This modernization of digital infrastructure aligns with Ukraine's broader European integration goals.

The public vote for the AI's name reflects Ukraine's commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into daily life with tools tailored to national needs. Engaging citizens in this choice highlights the importance of public participation in developing domestic technology. The simultaneous upgrade of the digital signature service demonstrates the government's ongoing efforts to adapt its digital services to European standards, a key step in the country's digital transformation.

In addition to the exciting opportunity to name the first national large language model, Ukraine is also advancing its digital capabilities. The recent enhancements to the electronic signature verification service ensure compliance with EU standards, further supporting the nation's technological evolution.
