Irish low-cost airline Ryanair, despite reducing its programs in Vienna, is expanding its network to Portugal by adding four new routes from European hubs, including Polish cities. This opens up affordable travel for Ukrainians who often transit through Poland. This was reported on Ryanair's Instagram page.

The company announced destinations, two of which – from Poland – are set to be hits for Ukrainians living in the neighboring country or planning flights from there. Flights from Warsaw and Krakow will start this week.

  • Faro – Krakow (Poland): starting this week.

  • Porto – Gothenburg (Sweden): from October 26, 2025.

  • Madeira – Shannon (Ireland): starting this week.

These routes are perfect for beach lovers: Faro is the Algarve with golden sandy beaches, Porto is a cultural pearl on the Atlantic, and Madeira is eternal spring with volcanic landscapes.

Ticket prices with Ryanair are traditionally low, starting from 20-50 euros one way, depending on the dates.

New Ryanair base in Albania

Recently, the carrier warned of the cancellation of another 1 million seats on flights to Spain due to rising airport fees. However, in August 2025, Ryanair announced a new base in Tirana (Albania). Starting in April 2026, the airline will add dozens of routes to the Balkan pearls through it.

New flights mean not only savings but also simplified logistics. Poland as a transit hub brings Portugal closer than ever. Experts recommend booking in advance as demand for low-cost carriers is rising. Ryanair continues to dominate the budget flight segment, offering over 2500 routes across 40 countries.
