Ukrainians planning to enroll in universities in Germany can apply for a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The program provides monthly payments of nearly 1000 euros, reimbursement of certain expenses, and financial support for the entire duration of studies. This was reported by Visit Ukraine.
DAAD Scholarship for Ukrainians: who can receive 992 euros per month
Currently, applications are open for programs starting in 2027.
Ukrainians planning to:
- enroll in a master's program;
- study in a doctoral program;
- undertake a research internship;
- pursue education in creative specialties, including architecture.
Funding is provided for the entire duration of studies for master's students, which may last from 10 to 24 months depending on the program.
The monthly scholarship is 992 euros. This money is intended to cover living expenses, housing rental, and everyday needs.

Studying in Germany: what the scholarship covers and how to apply
In addition to monthly payments, the program includes:
- payment of health insurance;
- reimbursement of transportation costs after a separate application;
- one-time assistance for educational materials.
The same financial support package is also available for students in architecture specialties.
At the same time, the organizers emphasize that the scholarship does not cover the tuition costs themselves. If the university sets a fee for the contract or high semester contributions, the student must pay them independently.
Documents can only be submitted through the official DAAD online portal. There is no single deadline for all programs, as the application deadlines depend on the chosen specialty and course of study.
