A record number of working citizens of Ukraine has been recorded in Poland. At the end of March 2026, their number reached 784,000, which is 15,000 more than the previous peak in November 2025. Ukrainians make up more than two-thirds of all employed foreigners in the country. Earlier this year, more than 750,000 Ukrainians were reported to be working in Poland. This was reported by InPoland, citing data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS).
How many Ukrainians are working in Poland in 2026
As of March 31, a total of 1.1527 million foreigners were working in Poland. Over the year, their number increased by 85,700 people, or 8%. In just one month, compared to the end of February, the indicator rose by 20,200 people.
The largest group in the Polish labor market continues to be citizens of Ukraine. In March, 784,000 Ukrainians were employed. They accounted for about 68% of all working foreigners in the country.
In annual terms, the number of employed citizens of Ukraine increased by 9.7%. This is one of the highest growth rates among the main groups of foreign workers.
The previous record was set in November 2025, when about 769,000 Ukrainian citizens were registered in the Polish labor market. The March figure exceeded it by approximately 15,000 people.
The dynamics are especially noticeable against the background of data from January. At that time, about 757,700 Ukrainians were working in Poland. Thus, in just two months, their number increased by approximately 26,300.
In percentage terms, the number of workers from Colombia grew faster than among the nationalities mentioned in the statistics. Over the year, their number increased by 18.9%, or about 3,200 more.
Where Ukrainians work most often in Poland
A high percentage of Ukrainians among foreign workers confirms their significant role in the Polish labor market. According to preliminary studies, the employment rate of Ukrainians in Poland reaches approximately 78%.
Among the main sectors of employment are industrial production, logistics, warehousing, and construction. At the same time, Ukrainians work in the service sector, retail, IT, finance, and hold management positions.
The increase in the number of employed is occurring against the backdrop of changes in Polish migration and labor legislation. In 2026, the country continues to digitize the processing of foreigners’ documentation and strengthen control over employers.
The figure of 784,000 refers specifically to Ukrainian citizens working in Poland and not to the total number of Ukrainians living in the country. Therefore, it should not be equated with the overall size of the Ukrainian community.
The high employment rate also influences Ukrainians' decisions regarding further residence abroad. Earlier, Inkorr reported that 78% of Ukrainians in Poland are working, and among the main factors for possible return, they name safety, housing, and job prospects in Ukraine.
