The National Bank emphasizes that the demand of Ukrainians for currency remained small in the summer, but they anticipate a gradual increase. The first deputy head of the NBU, Serhiy Nikolaychuk, noted that the net demand for currency in June-July this year was significantly lower than in previous years.

'We expect an increase in demand for currency, but not at the level of last year. Last year, the demand was detached from previous years when there were currency restrictions,' Nikolaychuk explained.

According to Nikolaychuk, Ukrainians have again begun to show interest in currency transactions, but they are also more careful about the possibility of earning income in the national currency. The regulator continues to work on ensuring the return of currency earnings, and cooperation with government agencies is already yielding results.

According to the National Bank, the volume of export earnings in Ukraine has increased by 19.5% compared to the previous year. Currently, the exchange rate remains stable, and the regulator expects further improvement in the currency market situation.
