The State Migration Service calls on passport bookholders to remember to update the photos in their documents. This is especially important for citizens who have old-style passports. A fine of up to 51 hryvnias is imposed for violation of this rule.
It is not always necessary to replace an old passport with an ID card, but there are situations where it is mandatory.
For example, mandatory exchange is required in case of missing the deadline for photo attachment, document damage, or loss. The passport must also be replaced when personal data changes. Using an invalid passport can lead to a fine.
Passport Exchange Time Shortened
The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision to shorten the passport exchange period. Now, for urgent production or exchange of documents, only 7 working days are needed instead of the previous 10. This innovation applies only to urgent cases; the standard procedure remains unchanged.
The Ukrainian State Migration Service updates the requirements for passport booklets, reminding owners of possible fines for non-compliance with these rules. Additionally, the government has shortened the passport exchange period for urgent cases by reducing it by 3 working days. These changes are aimed at facilitating and speeding up the document recovery process.
