Попередження про підвищену небезпеку пожеж в Україні з 9 по 11 травня.

Fire Hazard Warning Across Ukraine

Ukraine's Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning about an extreme level of fire danger across the country from May 9 to 11. This alert applies to all regions except for a few specific areas:

  • Crimea
  • Volyn and Zakarpattia oblasts on May 9-11
  • Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts on May 10-11
  • Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts on May 11

Weather Conditions in Kyiv

On May 4, Kyiv experienced a steady rise in the average daily air temperature above 15°C, marking the start of meteorological summer in the capital. The following day, May 5, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center recorded several temperature records.

“From May 9 to 11, an extreme fire danger level is expected across Ukraine, except for Crimea, Volyn, Zakarpattia, and on May 10-11 also excluding Odesa and Mykolaiv, and on May 11 additionally excluding Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts,” the Hydrometeorological Center stated.

This extreme fire danger warning serves as a critical signal for the public, especially given the rising temperatures that could trigger large-scale wildfires. Emergency services are expected to tighten enforcement of fire safety regulations, and residents are urged to exercise caution in forested and park areas. It is also worth noting that temperature shifts can impact ecosystems and agriculture, requiring increased monitoring and preparedness.

As the situation develops, it is essential to stay informed about other weather-related alerts affecting the region. In this context, a yellow alert has been issued for Ukraine on May 8, indicating severe storms on the horizon. Understanding these concurrent weather patterns is crucial for residents as they navigate the potential risks associated with both fire danger and impending storms.
