Ukraine’s Weather Outlook for August 5
An anticyclone will keep most of Ukraine under a dry, searing heatwave on August 5. Daytime temperatures are forecast to climb to 35–38°C across the majority of the country, while the east and northeast can expect slightly lower highs of 30–34°C. At night, the mercury will settle between 18°C and 23°C.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center says the region’s weather pattern will remain effectively static through the day.
“A combination of the anticyclone and intensely hot, dry air higher in the atmosphere will drive the severe daytime heat in most regions,”according to forecasters.

In the Kyiv region, overnight readings are set to range from 18°C to 23°C, with afternoon temperatures reaching 35–38°C. For the capital Kyiv itself, the forecast calls for 21–23°C at night and about 35°C during the day. Winds will be variable but light, coming in at 3–8 m/s. No rain is expected, meaning the dry conditions will hold into the next few days.
