Ukrainian Dmytro Sheliesko became the champion of the World Games in Muay Thai: how the final went

Dmytro Sheliesko became the champion of the World Games in Muay Thai. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the database of Ukrainian sports.


The Ukrainian won by points (30:27) against Israel's Ruah Hashem Bichai Gordon in the final of the weight category up to 57 kg.


This medal became the only one for Ukraine in Thai boxing. In the bronze match in the weight category up to 71 kg, Oleksandr Yefimenko suffered a defeat. Overall, this is already the seventh gold for Ukraine at the World Games.



We remind you that Ukraine entered the top 10 of the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, finishing in 10th place. The Ukrainian team has: 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.


This is the second most successful performance of Ukraine in the entire history of participation in the Festivals since 1993! The 'blue-and-yellow' team won more medals only in 2019 – when there were 25 awards.


The most successful sport was judo – our athletes won six medals, including bronze in the mixed team tournament on the final competition day. Besides judo, representatives of other sports also won awards for Ukraine.



As reported, the World Summer Universiade has concluded in Germany. On the final day of the competition, the Ukrainian team won another award – bronze. It was won by Mykola Rushchak from Sumy in the 20-kilometer race walking.


Ukraine ranked 14th in the overall medal standings. In total, our athletes won 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.



Ukrainian athletes continue to delight victories at international competitions, achieving significant success in various sports and raising the flag of Ukraine to the tops of the podium. Thanks to their hard training and talent, our country gains recognition from the global sports community and adds to its achievements in sports.
