Ceremony Held to Deliver Ambulances and Evacuation Vehicles
A ceremony at Kyiv's St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery marked the handover of medical and evacuation vehicles for paramedics. The initiative was carried out by the 'Hurtom UA' Charitable Foundation in partnership with the organization Ukrainian Action in Ireland. The event saw the transfer of 10 ambulances and 14 all-wheel-drive vehicles.
This donation is part of a broader effort by international partners to bolster Ukraine's emergency medical infrastructure, which is under immense strain. Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Yevhen Perebyinis, participated in the ceremony, highlighting the significance of international backing:
This is a true example of international solidarity in support of Ukraine. While Ireland may be geographically distant, our hearts are close. We see this country actively supporting Ukraine, particularly through initiatives like this transfer of vehicles for our defenders' needs.
Yevhen Perebyinis
Funds for the vehicle purchase were raised through a charity campaign involving the Ukrainian community in Ireland and employees of Google Ireland. The aid recipients are paramedics and medical institutions operating on the front lines. This initiative aims to support healthcare workers performing their duties under extremely challenging conditions.
Photographs of the event, taken by Olena Kyrychenko-Povolotska, capture the importance of this occasion for Ukrainian medical services.
The Critical Role of International Aid
This project represents a vital step in supporting medical personnel working in a warzone and demonstrates the solidarity of the international community with Ukraine. The delivery of this medical transport will help improve the provision of emergency care at the front, which is critically important given the ongoing military conflict. Such actions underscore the necessity of support from foreign partners and the Ukrainian diaspora in the fight for humanitarian values and the country's security.
