Blogger Natalia Piirus, along with her boyfriend, left Poland after a year of living there. She named the reasons as fear due to manifestations of xenophobia, uncertainty regarding documents, and constant anxiety. This is reported by TSN.

The Ukrainian shared her story on TikTok. She noted that Poland has many advantages: she managed to find a job and start developing her blog there. However, these opportunities did not compensate for her psychological discomfort.

Why the Ukrainian woman was afraid to stay in Poland

The first reason Natalie mentioned was the feeling of danger. According to her, she personally did not experience xenophobic attacks, but she witnessed manifestations of hostility towards other people. News about such incidents heightened her fears.

«Thank God, nobody was xenophobic towards me here, but I witnessed such moments,» the blogger shared.

Natalia admitted that she was afraid to walk the streets alone, go to shops, and talk on the phone. Even speaking Ukrainian with a friend in a café caused discomfort.

She was particularly influenced by the news about an attack on a Ukrainian couple in Wroclaw. After that, according to her, she tried to speak quietly even in the shop with her boyfriend.

At the same time, the Ukrainian emphasized that she personally knows many good Poles. Her decision to leave was based on her own experiences and feelings, not on an assessment of every resident of the country.

Documents and constant anxiety: two more reasons for leaving

The second reason was the uncertainty regarding legal stay. The couple lived in Poland under temporary protection, but, as Natalia explained, she did not feel confident about her future.

She also recalled an incident during a bus trip to Ukraine, when, according to her, there was a problem with PESEL. The specific status that changed and why was not clarified in the provided story.

The third reason the blogger named was the constant expectation of something bad. She realized how much this affected her only after leaving.

«I was constantly living in anticipation that something bad would happen right now,» shared Natalia.

Despite the difficulties, she considers this experience useful: it made her stronger, and the possible move to other countries is now less frightening. Where exactly the couple has headed, the blogger promised to share later. She called the issue of documents one of the key points, as the grounds for staying in Poland determine a person's rights and opportunities.
