Taisiia Onofriichuk's Achievement at the World Challenge Cup

Ukraine's Taisiia Onofriichuk secured a silver medal in the individual all-around final at the World Challenge Cup in Romania. This marks her sixth career medal from World Challenge Cup events. In the final, she delivered impressive performances, notably placing third in the hoop routine with a score of 28.800 points. She finished fourth in both the ball and clubs routines, and fifth in the ribbon exercise.

Notably, Onofriichuk edged out bronze medalist Takhmina Ikromova of Uzbekistan by 0.550 points. Germany's Daria Varfolomeev took gold, outperforming the Ukrainian gymnast by nearly five points. The final all-around standings were as follows:

  • 1. Daria Varfolomeev (Germany) - 116.950 points
  • 2. Taisiia Onofriichuk (Ukraine) - 112.000
  • 3. Takhmina Ikromova (Uzbekistan) - 111.450

Looking Ahead

Onofriichuk, now a silver medalist in the individual all-around, plans to compete at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, scheduled for August 12-16, 2026, in Frankfurt am Main. She stated:

“At the World Championships, I will perform the same routine as at the recent European Championships. However, we will increase the difficulty of some elements to stay competitive in the fight for medals. Our goals for the championship are the most ambitious, so we will work on complexity.” - Taisiia Onofriichuk

This success builds on her recent career momentum: in 2024, she earned her first gold medal in the ribbon routine, and in 2025, she defended that title while also winning the clubs event. That same year, she took silver in the ball routine and the all-around. On Sunday, June 28, Onofriichuk will compete for medals in all four individual finals, marking an exciting phase in her athletic journey.

Onofriichuk's performance at the World Challenge Cup underscores her consistency and growth in rhythmic gymnastics. With this medal, she reinforces her status among the world's elite gymnasts, boosting her prospects for future international competitions, including the World Championships. The event in Frankfurt could be a pivotal moment in her career, especially given her plans to enhance her routine's difficulty to improve her competitiveness.

Onofriichuk's recent silver medal at the World Challenge Cup is a testament to her growing prowess in the sport, especially following her bronze medal at the European Championship. This impressive achievement not only highlights her consistency but also sets the stage for her future competitions, where she aims to elevate her routines and secure more medals.
