Miriam Uro-Nile, a forward for the Ukrainian national team, is set to continue her career with the Swiss club Nyon. Over the past two years, she has been a consistent performer for the team, delivering standout results. In the Swiss league season, Uro-Nile appeared in 20 games, averaging 15.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per contest, earning an efficiency rating of 21.3. Thanks to her contributions, Nyon secured its second consecutive Swiss championship title.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian men’s basketball team suffered a defeat against Spain in the fourth round of qualifying for the 2027 World Cup. The recently played match ended with a score of 78:64 in favor of the Spanish side. Ukraine got off to a shaky start, losing the first quarter 9:16, and ultimately Spain won three of the four quarters, sealing the outcome of the game.

Qualifying Results and Player Achievements

In the previous stage of qualifying (the third round), Ukraine also lost to Spain, this time by a lopsided score of 66:86. However, in the second round, the team bounced back with an 88:71 victory over Denmark, and in the opening match, they defeated Georgia 92:79. The standout performer in the Georgia game was Oleksandr Kovliar, who scored 31 points in 37 minutes. Oleksandr Lypovyi contributed 13 points to the win, while Viacheslav Bobrov recorded a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
