High results of Ukrainian basketball players
Ukrainian basketball players Bohdan Bilyznik and Volodymyr Gerun demonstrated high results on the international stage, and the national team of Ukraine achieved an important victory over Denmark in the qualification for the 2027 World Championship. In a recent match, Ukraine won 88:71, securing their place among the best teams in the group.
Bohdan Bilyznik, who plays in the Taiwan championship, played a match for the 'Kaohsiung Aquas' team. Despite his team's loss to the 'New Taipei Kings' with a score of 94:111, Bilyznik showcased an impressive game, scoring 21 points, making 15 rebounds, and providing 9 assists in 41 minutes on the court.
Volodymyr Gerun played in the Japan championship, where his 'Osaka' team defeated 'Koshigaya Alphas' with a score of 76:58. Gerun played for 22 minutes, scoring 7 points and collecting 14 rebounds.
Successes of the national team of Ukraine
The national team of Ukraine continues its successful campaign in the World Championship qualification. The victory over Denmark was the second in their account, as the team previously won the first qualifying match against Georgia with a score of 92:79. The top scorer of that match was Oleksandr Kovlyar, who scored 31 points.
Thanks to these successes, Ukraine occupies a position among the two best teams in its group, and the next qualifying window will take place in February 2026.
