Ukrainian Drones Strike Key Targets in Crimea, Destroying 'Orion' Drone Base and Aircraft

Українські безпілотники завдають ударів по важливим об'єктам у Криму, знищуючи базу дронів та авіацію ворога.

Drone Systems Operation in Crimea

In a coordinated strike with Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, unmanned aerial systems successfully targeted three strategic sites in occupied Crimea. The operation, conducted near the settlement of Krasnosilske, resulted in the destruction of:

  • an 'Orion' unmanned aerial vehicle base
  • an An-72P transport aircraft
  • a 'Meche' (Sword) radar station

The strikes were carried out using domestically produced middle strike FP-2 systems, which are equipped with warheads weighing between 60 and 100 kilograms. This attack demonstrates Ukraine's growing capacity to project force deep into occupied territory.

Strategic Impact of the Ukrainian Military's Actions

Among the destroyed assets, the 'Orion' drone training base is particularly significant. The 'Orion' is a long-endurance drone capable of operating for up to 24 hours at a range of 250-300 kilometers, conducting reconnaissance and carrying up to 250 kilograms of armaments, such as missiles or bombs, at altitudes reaching 7.5 kilometers.

"This lair was utterly destroyed in Kirovske, in the area of the Krasnosilske settlement, Crimea," stated a representative of the forces, Robert Brovdi.

Additionally, the operation eliminated the An-72P transport plane and the 'Meche' radar station. Such strikes form part of the Ukrainian military's strategic efforts in the region, where the Apachi unmanned systems battalion of the 81st Separate Airmobile Siverska Brigade continues its operations on the Sloviansk axis. Concurrently, the enemy is attempting to force the Bakhmutka River by constructing pontoon bridges, indicating intense combat activity in this area. These deep-strike capabilities are crucial for disrupting Russian logistics and command nodes.

This operation underscores the intensification of Ukrainian military actions in occupied territories, particularly in Crimea, where strategic strikes against critical military infrastructure can significantly degrade the aggressor's operational capabilities. In the face of constant threats from the adversary, such actions can help reduce its combat potential and strengthen the positions of Ukrainian forces on the frontline.

In addition to the recent drone strikes in Crimea, Ukrainian forces have successfully targeted a significant Russian air defense installation in Sevastopol. This operation highlights the ongoing strategic efforts by Ukraine to weaken enemy defenses and enhance operational effectiveness.
