Ukrainian refugees have become the largest group of homeless people in Germany

According to the German publication Stern, more than 470 thousand people in Germany have lost their own homes. Of this number, 137,800 are citizens of Ukraine.



The majority of Ukrainians who have lost their homes are living in shelters or temporary dormitories. The largest group among foreigners without permanent housing in Germany is Ukrainians who arrived after the Russian invasion.



The housing situation in Germany has become particularly acute due to the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in 2022. Authorities and local communities are trying to address this issue, but the rate of increase in the number of homeless people remains high.
