Ukrainian Greco-Roman Wrestling Team's Accomplishments
Ukrainian athletes have demonstrated their strength on the international stage with a series of impressive medal hauls. The national Greco-Roman wrestling team secured 14 medals at an international tournament in Nice, France, and added another 12 medals at the World University Summer Games in Germany. These results highlight the high level of training and international competitiveness of Ukraine's athletes.
At the international tournament in Nice, the wrestlers delivered a remarkable performance, earning a total of 14 medals. Ten of these medals were won at the European Youth Olympic Festival, where the team placed 10th in the overall medal standings. This marks Ukraine's second most successful performance at these festivals since 1993, surpassed only by the 25 medals won in 2019.
Success at the World University Summer Games
The Ukrainian team also achieved significant success at the World University Summer Games in Germany, securing 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze. This placed Ukraine 14th in the overall medal table for the Games. Notably, Mykola Rushchak won a bronze medal in the 20-kilometer race walk.
