Exoskeleton Testing in Ukraine's Defense Forces
The 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces has become the first unit within Ukraine's Defense Forces to begin large-scale field testing of exoskeletons. This testing is being conducted on the Pokrovsk front by the 147th Separate Artillery Brigade. The test models have already been delivered to the units, enabling artillery crews to enhance their physical performance during combat operations. Artillery personnel face immense physical strain daily, as they must carry 15 to 30 shells, each weighing 50 kg. This indicates a substantial reduction in physical load—by up to 30%.
Modernization and Adoption of New Technologies
The exoskeletons are capable of supporting a maximum speed of up to 20 km/h and have an operational range of 17 km. Testing these systems in the military is a crucial step toward modernizing technical support for troops. In a related development, Ukrposhta, the national postal service, has also begun trialing innovative exoskeletons for staff at its logistics centers. The equipment is being tested at one of the country's largest sorting terminals, highlighting a growing interest in applying this technology across various sectors, from defense to civilian logistics.
