Successful Strikes of Ukrainian Drones

In the night from August 8 to 9, Ukrainian drones of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) carried out successful strikes on the positions of the Russian air defense. The primary objective of the attack was the destruction of the S-400 Triumph missile system in Gelendzhik, as well as affecting several other air defense elements on the territory of the Russian Federation and ships in the Black Sea. The commander of the USF, Robert Brovdi, confirmed the destruction of the targets and announced the continuation of strikes.

According to reports, Ukrainian drones destroyed the S-400 missile system position in Gelendzhik in Kuban, which burned for three hours on the seashore. On August 8, from 9:25 to 12:51, this position launched six missiles.

“We finally took out that Gelendzhik antiaircraft missile system, which was launching six missiles from 9:25 to 12:51 on August 8 - it really troubled us,” noted Brovdi.
The S-400 position was worked out by the 413th separate USF Raid Regiment.

Additional Strikes and Results

In additional strikes on the night of August 9, four elements of the Russian air defense were hit on the territory of the Russian Federation. In particular:

  • the Tor missile system in the village of Pudoviy in Rostov Oblast
  • the Pantsir-S1 air defense system in Yeisk, Kuban
  • the radar stations Podlyot-K1 and Kasta 2E2 in Rostov region

All four targets were credited to the 1st separate USF center.

Moreover, in the Black Sea, the USF struck three ships: an oil tanker and two bulk carriers. The tanker was hit by the 413th Raid regiment, while the bulk carriers were targeted by Raid together with the 412th separate brigade of the USF Nemesis.

“The S-400 position in Gelendzhik burned and smoldered for three hours, right next to the catacombs,” added Brovdi, emphasizing the effectiveness of the operation.
He also noted: “The USF's offensive will continue.”

Such actions by the Ukrainian forces indicate an intensification of the fight against the Russian air defense.

“We will hold out. Moscow will fall. We will feed and rebuild Crimea,” summarized Brovdi, stating the intention to continue operations against the enemy.

The successful strikes by Ukrainian drones on Russian air defense positions indicate an increase in the effectiveness of unmanned technologies in military operations. The destruction of key air defense elements, such as the S-400, can significantly affect Russia's ability to ensure the air security of its territories, as well as the overall dynamics of the conflict. The presence of Ukrainian drones, which continue to attack important military objects, highlights the tension in the region and Ukraine's readiness for active actions in the confrontation with Russia.

At the same time, despite the successes of Ukrainian drones, the situation remains tense, especially in the context of the lack of modern air defense systems, such as Patriot. This poses a threat to the security of cities, which remain vulnerable to attacks.
