How Ukrainian Drones Are Disrupting Russian Logistics
According to analyst Clément Molin, Ukrainian drone strikes are increasingly targeting the rear supply lines of Russian forces near occupied Crimea. In the past 24 hours alone, drones hit 56 trucks, signaling an escalation in this campaign. Over the last week, the average strike rate has reached nearly 40 vehicles per day, with 193 units disabled in the past five days. These attacks are carried out more than 20 kilometers from the front line.
Accelerating Strike Tempo
Since the start of May this year, drones have destroyed or damaged nearly 800 Russian trucks and pieces of equipment. The average daily strike rate since May has been around 15 targets. However, activity surged with 47 hits yesterday and 56 today. Over the following three days, drones struck an additional 90 trucks and vehicles, pushing the daily average to approximately 30 targets.
About a third of the vehicles hit are technically classified as civilian. Attacks on the Kavkaz port and the Kerch oil depot were noted as vulnerabilities in maritime routes, while strikes on the Chongar crossings are part of a broader blockade strategy for occupied southern Ukraine.
