Wheat Market Pricing Overview
Over the past week, prices in Ukraine's wheat market have stayed relatively unchanged. While local rates have remained steady, global markets are experiencing a downward trend. Farmers, the main suppliers, are limiting their sales, which is reducing the overall wheat supply available.
Domestic processors, especially those in the milling industry, continue to build up their raw material inventories. Even with falling export prices, the local market is showing resilience. Prices for Grade 2 wheat in the domestic market range from 9,700 to 11,000 UAH per ton on a CPT basis. Feed wheat is priced between 9,000 and 10,400 UAH per ton CPT.
Global Market Conditions
On international markets, food-grade wheat prices at Ukraine's deep-water ports are between 215 and 222 USD per ton, while feed grain at the ports ranges from 209 to 217 USD per ton CPT-port. Despite downward pressure from exporters, the market remains stable because farmers are choosing to hold back on selling.

The wheat market continues to be one of the most predictable segments of Ukraine's agricultural sector, allowing experts to make certain forecasts about future developments. As of now, domestic prices remain stable, and exporters are responding to shifts in global market conditions.
The stability of Ukraine's domestic wheat market amid falling global prices may indicate that local farmers are adapting to changing circumstances. By holding back sales, farmers are likely reacting to uncertainty in international prices, which helps maintain a certain price level locally. This strategy could also influence future decisions on stockpiling and exports, as market participants continue to monitor both domestic and external factors.
As the wheat market demonstrates resilience amid fluctuating global prices, it's essential to consider how other agricultural sectors are faring. For instance, vegetable prices in Ukraine have recently experienced significant volatility, highlighting the diverse challenges faced by farmers across different crops. Understanding these dynamics can provide valuable insights into the broader agricultural landscape.
