The Ukrainian men's and women's volleyball teams will represent Ukraine in the European Cup season, with only two teams declared out of a possible four. This information was published by the 'Gromadske Sport' portal, citing 'Obosrenny Sport'.
The clubs 'Epitsentr-Podolyany' (men) and 'Balta' (women) learned their opponents in the first round of the Challenge Cup after the draw, which took place on July 15.
Who will the Ukrainian clubs play against
The vice-champion 'Balta' will meet the Austrian team 'Aizenertz/Trofayakh' in the 1/32 finals of the Challenge Cup. The last time 'Aizenertz' participated in the tournament was in the 2006/07 season, and it is known that in the previous season, they finished in fifth place in the Austrian championship.
Should 'Balta' win, they will play against the Croatian team 'Zapreshic' in the next round. Meanwhile, 'Epitsentr-Podolyany' will play against the Cypriot team 'Anorthosis Famagusta' in the first match. If they win, the next opponent will be either the Serbian 'Karadjordje Topola' or the Slovenian 'Krka Novo Mesto'.
Recall that the women's team 'Balta' reached the final of the Ukrainian championship in the 2024/25 season but lost to 'Bukovyntsi'. The men's 'Epitsentr-Podolyany' won the title of Ukrainian champions for the second consecutive time.
The previous round of the Challenge Cup will take place in the women's category from October 28 to 30, and for men - on November 11-13 and 18-20 this year. It is also worth mentioning that this is the first time Ukraine has qualified for the U22 Euro for men's volleyball.
