On the international football front, Ukrainian legionnaires participated in matches for their clubs in various European leagues, as well as important matches for the national team of Ukraine. Both domestic players and their teams' results in international matches were noteworthy.

On January 3, within the framework of the 18th round of the Italian Serie A, a match took place between 'Genoa' and 'Pisa', which ended in a 1:1 draw. Ruslan Malinovsky played for 'Genoa', receiving a yellow card during the game. Other Ukrainian legionnaires also continue their careers in European championships. In the final of the Greek Super Cup, 'Olympiacos' secured a victory over OFI with a score of 3:0, in this match Roman Yaremchuk came on as a substitute in the 90+2 minute.

Performances of Ukrainian Players in European Leagues

The 17th round of the Portuguese Primeira brought new opportunities for Ukrainian players to showcase their skills. 'Benfica' managed to defeat 'Estoril' with a score of 3:1, where Anatoliy Trubin played a full match, and Heorhiy Sudakov was substituted in the 77th minute. In the Italian championship, 'Roma' competed against 'Atalanta' but lost with a score of 0:1, Artem Dovbyk came on as a substitute in the 60th minute.

In the English Premier League, the 20th round also brought a lot of emotions. The 'Everton' team played against 'Brentford', and the match ended with a score of 2:4. Vitaliy Mykolenko and Yehor Yarmolyuk played full matches. Meanwhile, in the Spanish La Liga, in the 18th round, 'Girona' achieved a victory over 'Mallorca' with a score of 2:1, where Viktor Tsygankov and Vladyslav Vanat both scored goals while playing full matches.

In the French Ligue 1, in the 17th round, 'Paris Saint-Germain' won against FC 'Paris' with a score of 2:1. Ilya Zabarniy, who was substituted in the 70th minute, received a yellow card. Additionally, on January 5, the semifinal of the Turkish Super Cup took place, in which 'Trabzonspor' suffered a defeat against 'Galatasaray' with a score of 1:4, and Oleksandr Zubkov was substituted in the 87th minute.

Recent events in the world of football also relate to the national team of Ukraine. In the final qualification match, the team faced Iceland and won with a score of 2:0, with goals scored by Zubkov (83) and Hutsulyak (90+3). The next important test will be the semifinal playoff of the World Championship, where Ukraine will meet the Swedish team. The final match will be against the winner of the pair Poland - Albania.

At the same time, the national team of Ukraine is preparing for important international competitions, which will serve as a test for new talents and experienced players.
