Ukrainian archers become bronze medalists at the Grand Prix stage in Europe

Ukrainian archers Alexey Gunbin, Vladislav Lisnyak and Artem Ovchinnikov won bronze at the II stage of the Grand Prix in Arnhem. They secured third place in the men's team competition by defeating the Belgian team with a score of 6:0.


In the women's competition, Veronika Marchenko, Olga Chebotarenko and Anastasia Pavlova finished in fourth place. Also, Veronika Marchenko took fourth place in the individual events.


It is worth noting that Ukraine set its second-best achievement at the European Youth Olympic Festival, taking 10th place. The Ukrainian team has a total of 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.


The most successful sports


Judo turned out to be the most successful sport for Ukraine at the festival: our athletes won six medals, including bronze in the mixed team tournament. In addition, our athletes also earned awards in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, artistic gymnastics, and table tennis.


In another sports event, the World Summer Universiade in Germany, Ukrainian athlete Nikolai Rushchak won bronze in the 20-kilometer race walk. In this competition, Ukraine took 14th place in the overall medal standings, winning 12 medals.



During the II stage of the Grand Prix in Europe, Ukrainian archers demonstrated high sports results, winning bronze medals in team and individual competitions. In addition, at other sporting events, such as the World Summer Universiade, Ukrainian athletes continue to improve their achievements and win prize places.
