Ukrainian athletes continue to delight us with their victories at the World Games in Chengdu. Our sambo fighters won three gold medals in individual competitions, as well as gold in team matches, defeating Kazakhstan 2:0.
Among the winners, it is essential to mention Oleksandr Voropaev, Anatoliy Voloshynov, Petr Davidenko, Andrii Kucherenko, and Vladyslav Rudnev. Overall, our team won four gold and two bronze medals at the World Games 2025.
Moreover, Ukraine secured the 10th place in the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival. Our athletes won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals. This became the second most successful performance for Ukraine in the history of the Festival, after 2019 when we won 25 awards.
The awards for Ukraine were earned by representatives of various sports, including swimming (2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze), athletics (1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze), taekwondo (2 silver and 1 bronze), shooting (1 silver and 1 bronze), artistic gymnastics (1 silver and 1 bronze), and table tennis (1 bronze).
Ukrainian athletes have repeatedly demonstrated their professionalism and high level of training, which allows them to compete with strong opponents and achieve impressive results on the international sports stage.
