Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Ka-27 Helicopter and Three Drone Command Posts in Crimea

Українські військові вразили ворожий гелікоптер і ключові позиції командування дронів на кримському півострові.

Ukrainian Defense Forces Operation

In the early hours of February 17, 2026, Ukrainian forces successfully struck a Russian naval Ka-27 helicopter near the village of Kamyshly in Crimea, a region under temporary Russian occupation. The strike resulted in a confirmed direct hit on the target. This operation demonstrates Ukraine's capability to target high-value assets in occupied territories. In the same coordinated action, Ukrainian forces also hit three unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command and control centers.

Actions on the Zaporizhzhia Front

As part of this broader operation, Ukrainian troops destroyed UAV command posts in the areas of Huliaipole and Zatyshshia on the Zaporizhzhia front. Furthermore, a base for Russian drone operators located within Russia itself, near the village of Anatoliivka in Kursk Oblast, was also struck. These strikes target the command infrastructure critical for Russia's reconnaissance and attack drone operations.

In a separate but related action, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) targeted the infrastructure of the TamanNaftoGaz oil terminal. This facility is a key node in the export logistics chain for Russian energy resources, and this marks the second attack on it within a month. The repeated targeting of this terminal aims to disrupt a major source of revenue funding Russia's war effort.

These combined strikes underscore the increasing scope and sophistication of Ukrainian operations against Russian military and economic assets. By systematically degrading command centers, key equipment, and financial infrastructure, Ukraine aims to weaken Russia's operational capacity in the region and impose long-term strategic costs, reinforcing its commitment to restoring its territorial integrity.
